The other day I was walking around East Aurora (a treasure in WNY) and came across a brand-new business. I found this airy, new-age looking restaurant and since I was hungry, ordered a half roast beef sub from a lovely young lady behind the counter. As I waited for my food, Kevin Toth, the store's manager and partner, came over to thank me for visiting (why don't small business owners do that more often?). We talked and he told me about the The Stack's background and I was intrigued. Kevin and owner Johnny Amoia wanted to bring to WNY a fresh concept of great food, large portions at a reasonable price and a family atmosphere. But more important... a clean restaurant with a smile. Both Kevin and Johnny have lots of restaurant experience (Kevin in the 'where do we get something at 3 in the morning variety) and Johnny with the restaurant/bar scene in Phoenix, AZ, land of the endless freeways and strip mall architecture. These guys want to branch out into other WNY communities and if you check out their website, have some pretty grand plans. So visit and have fun. Looking back, I should have ordered their whole sub for just a few more bucks... it was that good.
